AG-TT Club

Every one is welcome to come and join us here it is a fun and friendly atmosphere with a mixture of abilities and players.

We had some good games last night, Russell put in a good battle against me but just couldn't see it through, Eugeen played well against Kwaku they looked like they had a good battle keeping each other on there toes at all times.

Alex is learning so much about the game if he continues he will become a very good player, but he will need to stay focused and put in the ground work to take his game further.

Ashley played ok but his problem is a mind thing he has excellent ability, plays very correct or orthodox as some would say, he just seems to lose composure to regular he has great concentration at times but if he makes a mistake or misses a easy shot he tends to crumble.

Kwaku played well we had some tough games putting each other under pressure at all times, thats what the game is all about it makes you want to push yourself to the limit.

I think Rob won a few games but i wasn't watching much cause it seemed like he was practicing more than playing games which is a good thing cause sometimes we get caught up in wanting to play games all the time instead of Mastering certain shots that we want to play, and the best way to do that is by practicing and not playing games or by Drilling which to me is the number 1 practice session.

One day you mite be able to play like this i can.

Players

Afternoon all Monday was nice at TT i went to Bannatyne with Gee and Orrin, we played some great TT  there  were good shots played by orrin who to me has improved loads within the last year, the standard of the games are on a very good level, which is why our Friday nights is so successful.

Hayes had a home match against Youngs TT club, we won 5-4 but we could off done much better, Kwaku told me he played well but just didn't get the luck that was needed to see his matches through even though he won 1 game.

Darren won 2 games and George won 2, Kwaku said there is a chinese player they have who is good but beatable, he was quite upset he lost against him, specially as Kwaku came back from 2-0 down to 2-2 and then lose the match with a long serve.

Kwaku's game is a very unorthordox game which most players will find difficult to play against, so if his game is on he is a unstoppable player.

Dont worry Kwaks Summer League soon start, Master Gee your needed there as i need my TT partner there with me to encourage and Cuss me if need be, but i believe if  Gee played along side me we would be a proper Team, Imagine Kwaku as captain, Gee, Eugeen, myself and Everton as the 4th member impressive is all i can say.

well this friday should be ok every one is geared up for it, so till then. Peace.

AG-TT

Evening folks hope you had a good evening, TT was nice tonight it wasn't as busy as normal but it was just as good it was more of a training session for the weaker players we as the coaches had more time to help them improve there game.

I was practicing with Angelica, she is getting better by the week i was teaching her how to play against backhand top spin, and she was understanding the concept she managed to return quite a few by using the correct technique which i showed her, i was well impressed.

Pat was training with me to he found it a bit difficult reading the shots i was playing he tends to concentrate on getting the ball back on the other side too much, which is not a bad thing but he needs to incorporate watching what the opponent is doing too so any time i gave him a top spin shot he didn't know it was coming so the ball would obviously fly of his bat, but practice makes a player better so if he keeps it up he'll understand more.

Orrin lost to rob, and we all know you don't lose to rob cause you won't here the last of it, so said so done but orrin said thats the 1st time robs beaten him in 3 months Ha Ha teach him, Everton lost to rob too so it looks like rob is the Big Supe so far so all you who didn't attend watch out for rob he is a very tricky play

John done ok but left too early i love the way he blocks ball you always think you got him but with that super block it always comes back.

Graysons doing well his come a long way since he 1st started he's been watching and learning which is what TT is about, alex wasn't there tonight but he is getting very good, leon done well as usual his serve always catches people out he won the majority of his games.

Next Friday there seems to be some big talk from a few of the members, but lets wait till then a, Camz your Blade is waiting for you to demolish some players ha ha, but remember chaps you got to give him maybe a good month or so to get the feel of his bat so even if he is beaten regular, dont feel no way camz it happens but i know when you get use to it its BIG problems for them i promise you that.

Any how its my bed time so till the next time PEACE.

Table Tennis

Hello again people tommorow should be a good evening i am looking forward to playing and watching some good TT, i hope all the players are ready to have a good session.

There was a new player called Mario who seems to have a little game about him, but who seems to be quite confident, but i hope he doesn't feel to confident that he believes he can play one of the classier players because i would like to see him attend every week and wouldn't want his heart broken, so Brando have a word. Anyway we will see i'll keep all updated tommorow after TT. Peace i might even have video footage for all to see.

Hayes TT

Afternoon all last night at Hayes was a very enjoyable evening there was some good table tennis being played. Master gee played great he had a slow start but when he played me i could not match him, then after that he was unstoppable i only played him once didn't wanna get beaten again by him.

Ashley was having a good drilling session with Trevor, ash has got such a good Backhand technique who needs to put it in his game if he did that there would be a big difference and he would recognize how difficult it would be to play him.

Kwaku had a good warm up session too, practising his Loops forehand and Backhand, much improvement when he puts the energy in his looping, again he needs to incorporate those shots more in his game then he would be a complete player sometimes i think he lacks concentrations especially if he gets net play or edges from people he tends to crumble and i always tell him its a big part of the game and the best way to learn is to learn how to return those type of shots, i love it when people hit the top of the net it shows how quick your reaction time is and how quick you adjust yourself to return the ball as low over the net as possible.

There was a new kid that came with Ashley called Gyles, what can i say when he first arrived i noticed his bat  wasn't of any standard but he looked willing .

Well Well i had a little Drilling session with him and could see a little some thing some thing with his game, i then handed him over to ash to drill with him cause i had a few matches to play.

Darren then took over drilling with Gyles, darren is the club captain, it then became a coaching session for gyles who seemed to really take it serious and listen to what he was being told, i watched him during the night and WOW is the word and i am being deadly serious he looked GOOD his only about 15 but those are the age groups we want to get involved in the Great sport.

As for me i had a good time won a few lost a few thats table tennis the most important thing is that you have Fun you can be competitive but you must enjoy yourself.

Gyles needs more table time then he will be a very good player probably be beating some of the good TT players at AG-TT club in forest hill, i will make sure Ashley gets him a new blade and rubbers so he can feel what real spin is like.

This friday Mr play wont be able to attend so it might make it easier for some players to win games Lol, Camz hopefully you will have your new blade for friday its gonna take you some time to get used to it you will now find out what real spin is all about you will be facing it and should be able to give it with this exclusive bat your getting its for specialist players with a defensive style of game the blade is slightly bigger than the average blade.

Remember the bat we use can be a big percentage to our game so i will always advice anyone who is looking to play the game to a decent standard to seek advice on which blade and rubbers would suit there game, Orrin, Master Gee and myself have good knowledge of the game and can give expert advice on which rubbers and blade to get you started, and to understand how to read spin and control it.

Fridays Table Tennis

Well well well what can i really say people, oh yes sorry for my manners Welcome all TT lovers.
friday was a very good day for Mr Alan Brando remember him the guy who lost quite a few times last week, he beat Camz who was his nemesis quite comfortably, he then went on to beat Mr Play then Carlsberg then won a few other games Well done mate.

He decided to play some competitors who are on a higher standard, he gave them a good game but just didnt have the finishing touches to beat them, but he is getting there slowly a bit more practice and he will be a force to be reckond with he cant keep playing with those silly bats it wont improve his game in any way then what happens there is players will start to over take his game and beat him regular. Credit due to Mr Brando. as a coach i see potentially good players and like to keep there confidence High which can only improve his game.

Now Camz or Simba as liked to be called What happened?? he was over powered by players he beat last week, What it was is they worked out his game play and he couldnt follow up on the attack they gave him. They used there heads to beat him and now the problem there is that he might not be able to beat them if he doesnt work on his game plan maybe change his shot selection move around the table a bit more and Attack more that would be a good
move for him.

Dedication from Camz is What impresses me he has now done the right thing and ordered a Blade And Rubbers from the club, Now that is quality he will notice the differents when we get him his proffessional bat so beware you guys who beat him last night.

Mr Play, you started of very slow even with the good Drilling session we had. You need to incorporate your Drilling skills into your game a bit more, i noticed that last night your to tentative and cautious with your shots you must go for them and follow through with your Loops dont hold back and wait for your opponent to make the mistake, that is a mistake in it self. i see you warmed up later and then took control of the games you played and won, concetration must of kicked in and Anger too for all the silly shots you may of played. Leon seems to be the next step for you all to try and beat its not an impossible task the games will just have to be worked on, there are quite a few players up there in the rankings but generally i will say i am impressed with the performance from the TT players who have attended All Generations Table Tennis Club and i can see some of the guys want to really get involved and work on bettering there game, and the 1st way to do that is too have a good Bat to play with.

I hope you all have listened to coaches advice and to all those who want to play or take the sport serious. Till the next time folks:: Peace.

Hayes TT

Greetings all, mondays table tennis was good firstly i must congratulate the club for winning there league match Well done boys it was against the Met Police, one of there very Mouthy players got a 11-0 beat which was sweet he stopped talking after that defeat. we beat them 7-2, i will be playing in the summer league all the games so listen out for that 1.

But anyway i played ok on monday and gee played ok too i think the sunday session took it out of us but us being us still managed to win many games and look good doing it. This friday coming should be a good one for certain players who will be attending our club at Forest Hill school AG-TT 7-10pm there will be many grudge matches played because certain people got a good Hiding last week and i know they have a point to prove this week but the big question is Can they do it. To be continued
